About the Band

The Golden Eagle Community Band of Mount Holly, NJ is the premier all-volunteer community band in South Jersey. We have an active membership of approximately 55 members, who vary in age from teens to mid-seventies. We offer amateur and semi-professional adult musicians in the Delaware Valley the opportunity to continue or revive their musical enjoyment following high school, college, or military bands. Membership in the band is open to all.

The band was formed in 1972 as a group of high school musicians and alumni to play in local parades. The band started playing concerts two years later, and 1975 marked the beginning of our Concert Series. Today, the band performs 10-12 concerts (indoors and outdoors) each year.

The band presents familiar music that appeals to a wide variety of tastes. Styles have included the Twenties, the '50s, Dixieland and Big Band, Rock, and Marches. We've played music by John Williams, Whitney Houston, George Gershwin, John Philip Sousa, Henry Mancini, Queen, Gustav Holst, Michael Jackson, Leroy Anderson, Andrew Lloyd Weber, Richard Rodgers, and Tchaikovsky.
